On April 21-22, 2021, IX International Competition “The Best Young Metrologist of COOMET” was held online. The competition was held in English with the participation of representatives of other regional metrology organizations. In total, 18 papers from such RMOs and countries as COOMET (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Germany, Russia, Ukraine), EURAMET (Italy) and SIM (Colombia, Mexico) were presented at the competition. As contestants from NSC “Institute of Metrology”, junior researcher of SRL-12 Kateryna Hovorova with the report “Methods for researching the absolute value of the spectral irradiance of standard lamps” and junior researcher of SRL-30 Oleksandra Patsenko with the report “Obtaining Uncertainty Estimates Compatible with Estimates of Monte Carlo Method using the example of weight calibration” took part in the competition.
According to the results of the evaluation, the winners of the competition were Gianluca Milano (EURAMET, INRIM, Italy) for the best report in the field of fundamental metrology and Mutaib Zackaria (СООМЕТ, PTB, Germany) for the best report in the field of applied metrology. Awardees of the competition were Gleb Belotelov (COOMET, VNIIFTRI, Russia) – 2nd place and Rustam Tukhvatullin (COOMET, VNIIR, Russia) – 3rd place.
