All articles planned for publication in the Ukrainian Metrology Journal are reviewed and approved by the Editorial Board.

When a manuscript of an article is received, its initial examination and verification are carried out for compliance with the subject and formal requirements of the publication. In the event of non-compliance with the subject matter of the journal, the article is not accepted for consideration, the author is notified accordingly.

Then the article is sent to the reviewer for review, which is selected from the editorial board (internal review). The article can also be sent to an independent expert (external review). All reviewers are recognized experts in the subject matter of peer-reviewed materials and have had publications on the subject of the article under review during the last 3 years. The reviews are kept in the publishing house and in the editorial office of the publication for 5 years. The editors of the publication send copies of the reviews or motivated refusals to the authors of the submitted materials, and also undertakes to send copies of the reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Ukraine upon receipt of the relevant request to the editorial office.

The review procedure is anonymous for both the reviewer and the author ("blind" reviewing).

Based on the results of the review, the article may be rejected, sent to the author for revision, or accepted for publication.

The review should contain:

Assessment of the substance of the work and the possibility of its publication in the journal;

A clearly defined list of errors in the methodology and tools (if any);

Suggestions for finalizing the text.

When receiving a positive opinion of the reviewer, the materials are placed in the "portfolio" of the editorial office for further publication. The chief editor is notified to the author about this.

If a negative opinion of the reviewer is received, the article is considered at a meeting of the working group of the editorial board, which decides whether to reject the article or whether it is necessary to receive an additional review by an independent expert.

If the article is rejected, the author is sent a notification letter (signed by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal).

The final decision on the publication of the article and approval of the contents of the number is taken at a meeting of the Editorial Board.

The procedure for reviewing and approving articles takes from 1 to 1.5 months, then articles are published in order of priority. The editorial board can decide on an extraordinary publication of the article.

Preparation of the article for publication, conducted by the editorial staff of the journal, consists in the usual literary editing and finishing of the text to the required editorial standards adopted within the journal. Editorial edits are consistent with the authors.
