Radiotechnical and radioelectronic measurements are widely used in broadcasting, television and numerous connection systems, which are both of common importance and for special application (radio relay, satellite, aerospace, mobile communication). A great importance the radio measurements have in such special systems, as radio location, radio navigation, radio control etc.

Radiotechnical measurements have a great number of subtypes and measurement quantities, and they are used in wide frequency and dynamical ranges.

The instruments of radiotechnical measurements of general use can be divided into a number of general groups:

• instruments of parameter measurements of radio signal intensity (current, voltage, capacity, tensity of electromagnetic field);

• measuring instruments of parameters of chains and tracts;

• measuring instruments of form parameters and radio signal spectrum;

• sources (generators) of radiotechnical signals of different form and with a spectrum content with fixed characteristics.

In addition there exist a number of radio measuring instruments of special application.

For assurance of the unity of radiotechnical and radioelectronic measurements in NSC “Institute of Metrology” there are developed 6 national standards of such units:

• voltage of alternative current in the frequency range from 30 to 1000 MHz;

• capacity of electromagnetic oscillations in coaxial tracts in the frequency range from 0,03 to 18 GHz;

• capacity of electromagnetic oscillations in wave tracts in the frequency range from 37,5 to 178,6 GHz;

• coefficient of amplitude modulation of HF-oscillations;

• frequency deviation of frequency modulated oscillations;

• total harmonic distortion.

All mentioned standards have a number of original scientific and technical solutions and are complex measuring automated complexes. According to their metrological characteristics they are in the level of world achievements. For their storage and exploitation there are created and equipped special standard rooms.
